Media Support for Kotmale Gamini Dissanayake National School’s Science Expo 2025

The Science Expo 2025 of Kotmale Gamini Dissanayake National School took place on the 6^th and 7^th, featuring a live broadcast and a special media exhibition. The event was conducted under the guidance of Principal Mr. Priyanthasiri Ariyasena, Deputy Principal and School Media Head Mr. Nimal Bandara, and Assistant Principal Mr. Lanka Jayalath. The live coverage was led by Kotmale FM Media Head Mr. Sunil Wijesinghe and was a highlight of the exhibition, with students actively managing the entire media segment a truly remarkable aspect of the event.

The exhibition showcased a media stall on the evolution of communication, along with displays from various government institutions.

It also featured medical clinics for physical and dental health, organized under the leadership of the Kotmale Regional Health Medical Officer. Attendees experienced interactive displays, including live plant exhibits, snake species demonstrations and biological specimens presented by the University of Peradeniya. The event was made even more significant as its broadcast reached a global audience via Radio Garden.

A key highlight of the expo was Kotmale FM’s initiative to engage students in live radio programming, offering them firsthand media experience. This initiative not only enhanced their skills but also inspired them for future opportunities in broadcasting and communication. Such experiences serve as valuable stepping stones for young minds aspiring to make an impact in the world.
