Sri Lanka Ranked as ‘The Most Family-Friendly Country' for 2025 by Conde Nast Traveler
Sri Lanka has been recognized as the most family-friendly
country for 2025 by Luxury travel magazine, Conde Nast Traveler. To help
families about their next move, Remotely, a leading American remittance company,
has unveiled its 2025 immigration index.
The report, released in March 2025 ranks 82 countries across
24 factors such as the healthcare quality, accessibility of education, economic
stability to safety and digital infrastructure.
In an article written by Olivia Morelli, Conde Nast Traveler
highlights Sri Lanka's welcoming culture, outdoor activities and family-
friendly hotels as key factors. The company used statistics including the
average years of schooling adults, the expected years of schooling for children
and the average cost of childcare per year.
Sri Lanka came in first place and achieved an impressive
score for its education system (0.7 out of 1.0) and a low annual childcare cost
$ 354.60 per year. (Compared to $ 16,439.40 in the US, which ranked in 10th
place). This combination has made Sri Lanka as the ideal destination for
families. With the affordability and nurturing environment, Sri Lanka offers a
balanced lifestyle for families looking for both adventure and relaxation. Many
of the country's hotels offer a popular fascinating destination for
multi-generational travel.
While the UK remains an attractive destination, its
performance in the family-friendly rankings suggests it may not be the best
option for families and UK does not feature in this report. The USA in 10th
place, Australia in 9th place, Denmark in 8th place and Sri Lanka came in 1st
place surpassing countries like Sweden, Norway and New Zealand.
Sri Lanka has vast national parks, sprawling beaches,
fascinating history, creative coastlines, delicious foods and the country is
home to some incredible wildlife. It's no surprise - in fact, Sri Lanka is one
of our favorite places to go for mega trips in 2025. While the tourism
authorities are taking steps for a global promotion campaign, this is the best
time to do it and the process will be fast-tracked.
