A SRI LANKAN HEART A MUSICAL DREAM IN FINLAND 

   

 Representing Sri Lankan folk music internationally, singer Upendra Siriwardana is now taking to the stage of “The Voice of Finland” in Finland. Upendra, who has made the city of Kouvola, Finland her second home, is stepping into this famous singing competition as the latest step in her musical journey. Her talent on The Voice Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka made her passion- ate about singing. Now, that dream is coming true in front of the Finnish audience.

   

 Upendra particularly expresses her joy at being able to take our music, our journey, our artistic talents to the world. She is stepping onto the stage of “The Voice of Finland” representing the vibrant musical culture of Sri Lanka. “Through my singing, I hope to convey the beauty of Sri Lanka, its culture and music to the Finnish people. I believe that music can unite us!” The love and support of the people of Kouvola has been the strength of Upendra’s journey. “I am extremely honored to have this community embrace me, just as my country nurtured my dreams.”

   

 For the Sri Lankan community here, as well as for the international community, there is no doubt that another great singer has been born who has represented Sri Lankan music on an international level. Let us all celebrate Upendra Siriwardena’s journey on The Voice of Finland with love!
