    Sri Lanka is in the northern Indian Ocean, 30 km off the southeast coast of India. Sri Lanka is an island nation with a tropical climate with high temperatures throughout the year. It has two monsoon seasons: the northeast monsoon from October to February and the southwest monsoon from May to August.

    The weather in Sri Lanka is expected to be hot and dry during the month of April, according to the weather department. The temperature in April ranges from 23-32 °C (73.4-89.6 °F) and the monthly rainfall is around 152 mm (5.9 in). The southern and western regions will have mostly sunny weather, while the eastern and northern regions will experience less rain and blue skies.
